PART 2 – THE HISTORY OF HOU MA AND ER TRIBES

Once upon a time, there was a world that human beings lived with magic, power and other kinds of magical things. To improve the lives of human beings, they had pushed the magical creatures to far far away from where human beings lived.

With below than a thousand people, Hou Ma tribe and Er tribe were expelled from the fertile lands. They had to move to the West, where only had sand and sky. Human beings then built up a large empire with fast developed buildings and society.

Hou Ma tribe, as called the magical tribe, went to the North West of the continent while Er tribe, as called as the powerful tribe, went to the South West. In the Middle West, there was a small country called West Land, the people there were all normal human beings without any special powers. They just did not want to care much about power and money, so they lived a normal life with hunting, growing trees, and vegetables, feeding some animals.

Hou Ma tribe: they were the people who could make some magical things, but most of them were hypnosis or something else like that. Because of this, human beings thought that Hou Ma tribe would someday use their magic to control all over the world. Hou Ma tribe was led by Hou Hun, a powerful person who could do Hou magic very well. He and some powerful people built up a door called Hou Dark Door to prevent people in the Main Land from coming over them. But this door had a weak point its magic would disappear on the full moon day. Therefore, Hou Hun had enchanted a spell on the door and it could move from day to day. So that, no one could know exactly where the door was and it would be safer for Hou Ma tribe.

Hou Hun had a family with his beloved wife, Lei Hu, his son and his daughter, Hou Lei. Hou Lei was the Princess of Hou Ma tribe. She was very beautiful and kind. She was predicted to be the most powerful person of Hou Ma tribe. Hou Hun spent much time to teach Hou Lei about Hou magic, but with the characteristic of a Princess, she did not want to learn the magic.

-Father, why I must learn these things? We already have a peaceful life, separated with the life of Main Land people. – Hou Lei said, still looked at the book of her Father.

-My sweet, we won’t know what will happen to us, we just can’t predict all the things. You know, our Hou magic isn’t much powerful as Main Land people think. – Hou Hun held her hands, gently caress them, and he looked at her with affectionate eyes.

-But why you can know that I will be the most powerful person in our tribe.

-It’s just what our Hou magical gem predicted right before it was stolen from us. As you know, Hou magical gem is the most important thing of our tribe, but Se Ni, she had betrayed us and stole it. With its magic, we couldn’t find her for almost twenty-five years.

-So… Is that my mission? Find and take the gem back?

-No, I won’t ever let you do that. We had lived in our forest for almost hundreds of years, we don’t know anything about the world outside. It’s too dangerous to let you go out there and find the gem back. I prefer it never come back than lose you.

-Oh, Father. – She hugged him. – So what should we do now? The Main Land people already know we lost our gem, they will find and destroy us soon.

-I won’t let it happen, Hou Lei. Therefore, you must learn all the things about Hou magic. After that, we can improve our Hou Dark Door to prevent the outside force coming here.

-I get that, Father. I promise you, from now on, I will study hard and don’t let you disappoint about me.

-That’s my girl. I will teach you all about Hou magic and our Book of Hou tribe. So then, you and your brother can replace me to lead our tribe in the next decades.

-And Father, can you tell me about Er tribe?

-Er tribe… It’s a long story. I know you don’t want to be married to Er Wang. I will find a way to solve this problem. You’re my only daughter, so I want you to be happy even though I must pay any price. – He caressed her hair. – Let me tell you…

“Er tribe: they also have some special things like us. We have magic, they have the power. No one knows, from when and where there are human beings and special human beings. Special human beings like Hou Ma tribe and Er tribe, have powers. Hou Ma tribe has magic power, besides, Er tribe has physical power. They are very strong and people say that they can take down a big tree with just their hand. But we will ask why they also are expelled from the Main Land? They are strong, yes, but they are only human too, they can be hurt, sick and died. The Main Land people are good at many other things such as they have swords, arrows, and martial arts. In the early war, based on Hou magic, we can prevent Main Land people to hurt us and build a place for us without any invasion. However, Er tribe can’t do that. They only have physical power, so they must move to the South West, where have many mountains and extreme terrains. Main Land people with restricted strength cannot live or rush them at there places.

The leader of Er tribe is Er Wang, as called as Ziam Jun. He is the strongest person in the tribe as well as the smartest. All of the things, he also wants to improve his tribe and prevent it to be extinct. That’s the reason why he wants to marry you, combine Hou Ma tribe and Er tribe together. There can be a bigger and more powerful tribe, and then, he can get Main Land people payback for what they had done. However, he can’t find and pass the Hou Dark Door, you can be easy that it will take a long time for him to find out where we are.

The Main Land people have the same point, too. They want to find us for our Book of Hou tribe, which can let the Hou gem release its most powerful magic. But I assure that even they get the book, they won’t know how to use it. Hou magic is something you need to believe in its power, not a tool for you to dominate the world. Every magic is that belief and uses for good works, it will be the most beautiful things. But if you use Hou magic for bad works, you will get your payback, it’s just sooner or later.”

-Father, how about Main Land people? Are they good, or bad?

-You know, it’s not all of them. There will be some good and some bad. Actually, almost bad people. – He laughed.- The most important things to them are power and money. Power can make people very bad, killing others, making other suffer miserable feelings; all of those just to make someone get a higher level in the government or have their favorite things, especially, love.

-Love? I’ve heard that with Main Land people, love is something very beautiful.

-It’s just the rumor. I, actually, don’t know much about Main Land people’s love. But I assure you, Main Land’s men are bad, very bad, don’t like our Hou men. A man in there can have three, four, five or even ten wives, especially, the Emperor, the Princes, and the bureaucrats.

-The Princes are sons of the Emperor?

-Yup, they are the worst men in the world. They fight each other to death to be the Crown Prince, the next promising Emperor. They are also the cause of fights of women, who are in love with the Princes and the Emperor. People call that “the palace civil war”. There are many Princes, many wives of the Emperor, but there are only one Crown Prince and one Queen.

-That’s so terrible. Why people can kill others because of a title?

-My sweet, those titles have much power, below a person but above thousand and million people. It’s not like you and me, I’m the King and you’re the Princess of Hou Ma tribe but we live peacefully with other people in our land. We don’t care about money, power or level.

-Why Main Land people can’t think like us and live a peaceful life?

-It’s just because of their ambition and greed. Just when you get over these bad characteristic, you will have peace in your heart. It’s enough, just turn back to our lesson. And always remember my words, “Main Land men are all bad”.
