PART 102 – THE BIG RITUAL_2

The green light of Hou Lei’s magic was pulled back to her place and the moonlight did not shine into her room anymore. The wave back of the light made Hou Lei have many wounds on her body. The herbs surrounding her place were all burnt into ash. The invisible wave pushed Tian Liam to fly far away from her place to the middle of the yard in front of her room. They both fell into a faint. On another side, Lei Hwa was hit by her purple magic too, but she was a supporter, her injury was lighter than Hou Lei. Lei Hwa’s magic was, however, decreased much making her fall down to the ground from sitting place on her bed.

A wind blew to the yard in front of Hou Lei’s room, and a lady wearing pink clothes appeared. She took down her mask, it was Miang Xiang. She shook her head when seeing Tian Liam and Hou Lei were laying on the ground:

-What a pity! My Princess, poor you! No one would know he came back earlier than he had planned. And look at what you did, my Prince, making both you and your wife heavily injured. However, you’re at this point, I can’t let your plan destroyed, Hou Lei. Let me help you a little more.

She took out from her bag a small vial and carried Tian Liam’s head up, she poured the liquid inside the vial to his mouth. Then, she stood up and chanted a spell, a pink wave with sparkling powder appeared from her body, she danced some moves and dropped the powder on Tian Liam’s body.

-This medicine will cure all the hurt of you of the magic, and create some pain just like a physical hit from someone. I hope you have a sweet dream, my Prince, can’t let you know about Hou Lei’s identity so early like this. You will know that you met an assassin was hurting Hou Lei and you helped her, however, the assassin was too strong, you won him in the battle and fell down on the ground. My Prince, please help to take care of Hou Lei!

The wave and the powder disappeared. She looked at the two on the ground once more and flew out of the palace.

After a while, Tian Liam woke up, he held his head like having a headache. He shook his head several times and get his mind concentrated back. He looked around and realized he was laying on the ground in the yard in front of Hou Lei’s room. He stood up and walked into her room, he saw her laying on the ground with some wounds on her hands. He ran to carry her up to her bed, he touched her nose, her breath was normal, he fetched a sigh.

It was midnight, so he did not want to call the doctor immediately, he got a basin of warm water and a towel to her room. He put the basin on the small table next to her bed and wiped the towel with water. He cleaned the wounds on her hands gently. Then, he touched her cheek and smiled, he remembered that luckily, he had been there right the time she had been struggling with an assassin. And moreover, he was strong enough to fight with the assassin and protect his wife. He wondered why there were so many assassins surrounding the palace and aiming to Hou Lei and him.

He decided not to think about the assassin anymore, he returned the basin back to the maid house and got back to her room. He closed the door carefully and fixed the blanket to cover her body well, then got onto the bed and laid down next to her. He felt very peaceful when he was with her like this, he closed his eyes and easily got into a deep sleep.

The next morning, he woke up and opened the window as normal. He gently sat on the bed and called her to wake her up:

-Hou Lei… my cutie wife, it’s the morning, wake up and cook for your handsome husband!

She did not reply, “Hou Lei, do you hear me?”, he called her again. He got worried, he shook her body, but no answer. He touched her forehead and felt very warm. She might get a fever. He stood up immediately and opened the door, ran out of the room for calling the doctor. He ran as fastest as he could to the doctor's house in the palace. They were not waking up yet, he knocked on the door continuously with his heart racing very fast.

-Doctor!!! Doctor!!! Open the door! – He yelled.

-Who’s that? It’s the early morning! – A doctor opened the door.

-Doctor, please hurry, my wife is not good! – He continued yelling.

-My Third Prince, what happened? Why do you look for us so early?

-My wife’s forehead is very hot, please check for her now!

-My Third Prince, please wait for a minute, I’ll take my medical box and return with you immediately!

The doctor took his box and came to Hou Lei’s room with Tian Liam. After checking for Hou Lei several times, the doctor stood up.

-How is she now? – He asked.

-Well, a normal fever. – The doctor replied. – I guess.

-Guess? What actually her sickness is?

-I have no idea, my Prince, she gets a fever, but only her forehead is warm, her other body parts are normal. I really don’t know why.

-So what should I do now?

-I will write a list of medicine for her and ask the maid to extract the medicine. In this time, you need to keep her forehead cooler by using cool water to clean her face and cover the wet towel on her forehead. I will need to discuss with other doctors about the Princess’ status.

-Thank you, please hurry up, her status now makes me worried much.

-I know, my Prince, we will find out how to help her soon.

The doctor collected his things and left. Tian Liam immediately went to the maid house to get a basin with cool water. He continuously wiped the towel, cleaned her face and placed a wet towel on her forehead as the doctor said.

Later, in the afternoon, Tian Liang and the Queen came to give consideration about Hou Lei’s status.

-How is she now, Tian Liam? – The Queen asked.

-The doctor did not find out what kind of sickness she got now, mother! – Tian Liam replied.

-Did you help her to have the medicine?

-Yup, she still can drink the medicine, but she didn’t reply to my questions or my calls.

-So strange, I also see a kind of sickness like this for the first time.

-How about the doctors in the royal city? – Tian Liang asked. – Do you want to ask her for checking her health? I’ll help you to call them.

-I think the doctors in our palace are good enough for treating sickness. If they won’t have the answer within tomorrow, I’ll find the help from doctors in the royal city. – He replied.

-Well, I think it’s also a good way. However, if you need any help, please tell us! – Tian Liang continued. – I’ll help you with the works in the government these days, just take care of your wife well.

-Thank you so much, brother!

-Tian Liam, I have here some bird nests and ginseng, spend them for your wife after her sickness is cured. They will help her get her health back soon. – The Queen gave out a tray of bird nests and ginseng to him.

-Thank you, mother! – He received the tray from the Queen.

-Okay, we don’t bother you more, take care of her well and also, you need to take care of yourself. – The Queen said. – We’ll go first!

-Thank you, mother, brother! – He closed the door as they left.
