PART 101 – THE BIG RITUAL

-Thank you so much, my daughter-in-law! – The Emperor said. – I treated you not well, but you still cared about my health.

-It’s my responsibility, Father! – Hou Lei replied. – However, you were drugged by Liu Han, not that you wanted to punish me.

-I know, mother, but I and Tian Liam are still normal, maybe our chance didn’t come soon. But I think after many things we have passed, we will soon have the good results. – She answered.

-I hope that, too. – The Queen smiled gently.

After meeting the Queen, Hou Lei came back to her room. She was thinking about what the Queen had said. Or she should have a child with Tian Liam, for at least, after she left him, she still had something from him for herself. But she shook her head, what was she thinking about? That was too selfish, she would have a child for her own, and Tian Liam would not know the presence of that child. She could not be selfish like that, the better way, she would leave as to how she got here.

-What are you thinking about? – Tian Liam was waiting for her in her room. – Is that about your handsome husband?

-Actually, yes. – She replied. – I’m thinking about what we should eat for lunch.

-Everything you cook is the best!

-Of course, I think my cooking ability has a little bit of development from the first time you taught me to cook, now I can cook some easy dishes.

-That sounds good. – She smiled. – Now let’s go.

They walked to the kitchen and cooked their lunch together. Sometimes, she looked at him preparing the vegetables, breaking the eggs… she smiled to herself. She did not know how many times she could cook with him more. He would be the one she missed most when she left this palace, he truly made her believe in love and his love helped her out of the loneliness in this palace. He also made her believe in the good sides of people once more.

-Hey, you’re thinking about something again?

-Okay. – She smiled with him and cleaned the powder on his cheek.

He touched her hand and put it to his heart. She could feel that his heart was racing with happiness, this had to be the feeling he had each time they cooked together. He then pulled her to his body and hugged her tightly.

-Tian Liam, we’re in the kitchen!

-I don’t care, I just want to hug my wife! – He whispered to her ear.

The chefs silently walked out of the kitchen, spent all the space for the husband and wife. She stood there, laying her head on his chest and felt his heartbeats. Their heartbeats seemed to sync with each other, he closed his eyes and feeling the happiness he was now having.

Some days later, that suitable day for the ritual of Hou Lei finally came. In the morning, she went out of the palace, to the medicine store Tian Liam used to lead her there to buy some herbs. The owner of the store, as usual, felt very strange with the herbs she bought. He had never seen anyone mixing those herbs together. However, he knew that she would not answer him what purpose of her for the use of those herbs. Luckily for her, Tian Liam had some works to do in the royal city and he would not return by the morning of the next day.

In the evening, she had her dinner very fast and spent the time to read the ritual spell in the book of Hou Ma tribe carefully once again. She also used her mind contact with Lei Hwa to instruct her mother on how to collab with her to empower the spell.

-Mother, the ritual must be carried out under a full moon night.

-I understand, my sweet, we can’t lose this chance. – Lei Hwa replied.

-I have prepared all the herbs needed for the ritual, I need your help to empower the spell to get through the shield from the power of the religious land of the palace.

-The full moon will help our power stronger, I believe breaking the shield is easier than normal.

-I hope that. I also put a signal on the body of the Emperor. You can base on the signal to focus your magic on. I don’t want to hurt the Emperor or anyone, we don’t have cold hearts like people in Main Land, so mother, please be careful with him.

The midnight came, Hou Lei stood in the middle of her room and dropped the herbs surrounding her place. She danced some strange moves and chanted the spell, at the same time, Lei Hwa also chanted the spell to spread her magic to Hou Lei’s place. The moonlight directly shined to Hou Lei’s room, making the herbs flying around her and also shining. The signal on the neck of the Emperor shined in red light and the ritual was beginning.

The green light came out from Hou Lei’s body and soon it pointed out of her room to the Emperor’s room. However, on its way, the shield of the palace appeared and prevented it to go further. Lei Hwa chanted her spell faster and gave more magical power to Hou Lei, make another purple energy to spread with the green one of Hou Lei. The purple light transformed into a sword and fought with the shield. Both of them gave their all magical power to the lights, finally, the purple sword of Lei Hwa could control the shield, helping the green light continued its way to the room of the Emperor. The signal on the neck of the Emperor shined brightly waiting to absorb the green light.

At that time, Tian Liam finished his works earlier than planned. He rode the horseback to the palace before the soldiers walked behind him.

“Hou Lei must be happy that I come back with her earlier”, he thought.

He tied his horse to a pole in the horse stable, he returned his room to exchange new clothes before walking to Hou Lei’s room. On the way, he could feel something strange happening in the palace, like there was an invisible battle in the royal garden. But he ignored it and continued walking to her room. He planned to knock on the door, however, he thought that she had to be sleep now, he did not want to interrupt her sleep. He checked the door, it was not locked, he lightly opened the door.

Hou Lei was still in the ritual and she could not stop it, if she stopped, both she and Lei Hwa would get extreme injuries. Tian Liam was wordless with the scene he was witnessing. Hou Lei was flying with the herbs shining and flying around her like some kind of magical thing he could never imagine.

“Hou Lei, just ignore him”, Lei Hwa also sensed the presence of Tian Liam in Hou Lei’s room, “we can’t stop now, or we will never have a chance like this in the future. We can fix his memory about what he is witnessing later”.

Tian Liam walked closer to Hou Lei’s place and looked at her face. His eyes were full of incredulousness. He touched her body and they were pushed out of their place by a strong power.
