PART 41 – TAKE CARE OF HIM

Hou Lei finished extracting the medicine. She walked back to her room and saw Tian Liam was sleeping while waiting for her. She gently put the bowl of medicine on the table, she sat down on a chair and had her lunch although it was almost passing the afternoon. The food was prepared by Ah Jiang, and put there from the time she fed him, but she cared much about his medicine, she ignored it and wanted to finish extracting the medicine first. She ate faster than normal to avoid if Tian Liam could see that. He heard the noise and opened half of his eyes seeing her having her lunch fast. His heart was racing in his chest, she treated him very well, different from her normal attitude. No one had taken care of him like that. She finished her meal and looked at him, he immediately closed his eyes back and pretended to be still sleeping. She walked to the bed and shook him a bit:

-Tian Liam, wake up!

-What’s the matter? – He pretended to be sleepy. – Hou Lei, is that you?

-It’s me, wake up, your medicine is finished, take it when it’s still warm.

She helped him get up and brought the bowl of medicine to him. He got it and drank, his face was a little bit uncomfortable.

-It’s too bitter! – He gave her the bowl back.

-So why don’t you say that when I fed this medicine to you?

-Well, it was different, through your hand the most bitter things also become the sweetest.

-It’s that honey again. Please create the honey for yourself, I don’t need it!

She put the bowl back to the table and poured some tea in a cup for him. She arranged the things back on a tray including her leftover meal and brought it out of her room.

-I’ll make some gruel for your dinner! Please be obedient!

-Yes, my cutie wife! – He smiled.

She came to the kitchen and made the gruel with the chief. Ah Jiang ran to the kitchen and informed:

-My Princess, Miss Liu Han is on the way to your room, she wants to meet the Third Prince!

-Well, Mr. Fu, please help me to finish! I need to go. – She asked the chief.

-Don’t worry, My Princess. Just go! – He answered.

Hou Lei and Ah Jiang came back to her room at the right time, right before Liu Han preparing to open the door. Hou Lei shouted:

-What do you think you’re doing?

-I want to meet Tian Liam. – Liu Han answered.

-Without my permission, you want to get in my room?

-I knocked on the door and Tian Liam agreed for me to get in?

-He’s still sleeping. – Hou Lei looked through the window. – So how he can agree to let you get in?

-He… just answered me.

-Liu Han, I said to you that I would ask him to meet you when he was better, right? Why don’t you know the least politeness?

-You are cursing me? I think I studied more things than you, a countryside Princess!

-Whatever you want to say! Get out of my place! Just remember, who is the owner of this place, Liu Han! You’re only the daughter of the Minister, not a Princess, I have the higher level! Go back to your place, now! – Hou Lei shouted loudly.

All the maids and sentries looked at them. Liu Han felt very shame at that. The Soldier General got there to calmed them:

-Miss Liu Han, please return! The Third Prince needs to take rest more. You two talking loudly at here is not good for his treatment!

-Loudly? – Liu Han asked the General. – It’s her who shouted at me.

-So what? – Hou Lei asked with a challenging voice. – Run to cry with your father and tell him all, is that the best thing a “good daughter” like you can do?

Tian Liam was listening to all things the two ladies said. He smiled and put a hand on his heart, Hou Lei was preventing a lady to approach him, she might fall in love with him. He was just too excited to think about that.

The news about the conversation between Hou Lei and Liu Han was spread across the palace, everyone was discussing that. Many people said that Hou Lei was right about preventing Liu Han to meet her husband. Some others were different, they believed that Hou Lei should let Liu Han meet the Prince. Therefore, they were soulmates from the children period until now, she knew Tian Liam before Hou Lei and knew many things about him than her.

As the story reached the Queen, she asked Hou Lei to meet her:

-Hou Lei, I heard some bad things about you and Liu Han?

-Yes, mother. I prevented her from meeting Tian Liam.

-Why didn’t you let her meet him?

-He was still weak that time and the doctor said he should take rest without noise and disturbing. I even didn’t let Ah Jiang get in and out of the room as normal. Only I and he were in the room, don’t worry, mother, I did my best to take care of him.

-I can see that, but the argument between a Princess and a daughter of the Minister isn’t a good thing to be discussed in this Palace.

-Everyone can talk about everything they want, I only want that Tian Liam is safe and his treatment is carried out well, hoping he would get his health back soon.

-I’m happy to hear that! The connection between you two is better now. Or I should say thank to that assassin. – The Queen smiled.

-If there’s nothing else, I’ll come back to take care of Tian Liam. – She asked and the Queen nodded. – Goodbye, my Queen.

She came back to her room, Tian Liam was awake but he closed his eyes when she entered the room. She sat on a chair and laid her head on her hands. She looked at him and then looked at herself. Would there be a happy result for them? Or at the end, when everything was revealed, he would deny all the things they had together? And suddenly, she missed her tribe and her family, she shooked her head and regained her calm. She had to find the Hou Ma gem and the Book of Hou Ma tribe, that was the most important thing now, she could not spend her time on other things, including Tian Liam. She needed to take advantage of him to find out the Hou gem. He might be the only connection she had now. She looked at him sleeping on the bed, still with that innocent and handsome face. A tear dropped down from her eye, and there was a black rose appeared on the floor. She rapidly kneed down to see the flower clearer. She had never seen anything like that before, that might be a side effect of the Hou Ma magic she had. When she cried for a man, each tear of her would become a black rose on the ground. She could not let anyone see this, she cut the flower and hid it in the tree with a lot of leaves in her garden. She then came back to the kitchen and took the bowl of gruel prepared for Tian Liam…
