PART 33 – THE WEDDING_2

-So that’s the point! – He fetched a sigh. – They want to have both, the connection with West Land and North Land at the same time.

-I don’t care about that, I care about you and me! – Hou Lei said. – This is just a business of you and me. I don’t want you to love too much and have a bad result.

-Bad result? – He wondered. – Why I will have a bad result by loving you?

-I said to you at the very first time, don’t love me, but you don’t follow my words, I’m not a kind and nice Princess like every other Princess.

-But that makes you special, in my eyes.

-Stop pouring that honey to my ear! If you read it carefully, please sign!

-Okay, if you want that. – He signed and pressed his finger-print on the paper. – I’ll come back to my place if you don’t want me to be here.

He stood up and walked out of her room. She sat there with an upset face.

“Tian Liam, you won’t have any idea what I will do to you and your family, loving me is the worst decision you’ve ever made. Please forgive me, after all, I must leave you. I can’t stay here with you all my life, I must help my tribe to find precious things and help them to come back. Sorry, Tian Liam, you are a good man, but not for me, and I’m not a Princess for you. I just can’t love you, now and ever. We just don’t belong to each other”.

Some days after, Tian Liam walked through Hou Lei’s room, but he did not get in, he just took a look at her room and passed. One day, Hou Lei opened her door and caught Tian Liam was looking at her room. She smiled but he just went to another place. She could see the upset face of him, however, she did not know what she should do now, she could not give him too much hope in loving her. The people in the Main palace and North Liam palace were busy with preparing for the wedding. The palaces were decorated with red flowers, red fibers, and red words on the door. Hou Lei passed through the building, she looked at the people, they were doing the meaningless works. This wedding just aimed at the connection between West Land and Main Land, not between her and Tian Liam. She walked with Ah Jiang bringing a teapot on a tray, she planned to meet the Queen. They stopped in front of the Queen’s room. The sentry announced:

-Princess Hou Lei is coming!

She got into the room and saw Tian Liam was talking with the Queen something.

-My Queen, My Third Prince. – She greeted them.

-Hou Lei, you’re here, it’s good, we are talking about the wedding of you two. Come here and sit! – The Queen pointed the place next to Tian Liam.

-Thanks, mother! – She said and sat down.

Tian Liam got a little distance from her when she sat down. She looked at him but he did not care about her. The Queen saw that and said:

-You two have problems? Tian Liam, you look not excited about your wedding!

-No, I’m very excited, mother! – He smiled and took his hand on Hou Lei’s shoulder. – Right, Hou Lei?

-Oh, yes, we’re very excited. – She answered, still looked at him.

-Okay, so that’s good. You can see the preparation is almost done. The next two day will be your wedding date, take a good sleep the night before for being fresh on your special date. – The Queen said. – Hou Lei, you bring something with you?

-Yes, this is the tea I made for you! – She took the teapot out of the tray.

-Wow, this is the tea you made for the Emperor some days ago? – The Queen asked.

-Yup, Mother. – She answered and poured the tea into cups. – I made it with some ingredients as West Land style, it helps us more comfortable and feel great.

-Well, not bad. – She drank some tea. – Or should I say, very good!

-Thanks for your praise! – She smiled.

Tian Liam sat there, did not say anything, although he really wanted she would give him some. However, Hou Lei still talked with the Queen and did not take any concern about him. The Queen looked at him and knew that she gave him a cup of tea:

-Well, Tian Liam, why you don’t drink?

-Oh, well… - he paused and looked at Hou Lei. – Thank you!

But she took back the cup on his hand, gently said as she cared much about him:

-My Prince, you sound not good, this tea contains some ingredients, I don’t know if those are good for your health now or not, better than you shouldn’t drink.

-Oh. – He felt wordless, liked she was coping with his behavior for her today.

-Well, that’s good, the wife should care much about her husband’s health. – The Queen smiled. – I can see you two care about each other, that makes me happy, and my decision to couple you two is a good choice. A great couple!

-Mother, I have some works, I need to go first! – Tian Liam prepared to go.

-Wait, I have something for you two, let have lunch with me. – The Queen requested.

-If he has important works, we shall let him go. – She smiled with the Queen and looked at Tian Liam with a hollow laugh.

-Okay, I’ll stay, my wedding is more important! – He pouted to her.

-Ah Lin, bring it to me! – The Queen said to her maid.

The maid brought out some golden jewelry.

-Hou Lei, Tian Liam, I prepared these for you two. – The Queen said.

-Mother, is it too much? – Hou Lei surprised.

-It’s just a piece of the royal family. – He answered. – If you want more, I can give you more.

-I don’t care about your property. – She looked at him with disappointment. – You think I marry you because of your wealth?

-Of course not. – He answered. – Your parents sent you here to exchange peace for West Land.

-Stop that, Tian Liam! – The Queen shouted at him. – Hou Lei, don’t care about his words.

-But mother, I just said the truth! That’s why she’s here with us now. – He continued.

-Well, that’s right! He said all the right things. – Tears appeared in her eyes. – I’m not worth for this jewelry, mother, I don’t need them.

-Hou Lei, I’m sorry. – The Queen said. – Tian Liam, you don’t want to marry her?

-I don’t know, Mother. – He answered. – I really don’t know what I want now.

-Wang Tian Liam! You should remember each word of yours today. – Hou Lei stood up. – My Queen, sorry, I can’t stand it anymore. I should go!

She ran out of the room, the Queen said to Tian Liam.
