PART 38 – SHE MADE HIM HURT

-Okay, well, just a moment! – Hou Lei agreed.

He stood there and held her hand with happiness. He then led her to her room, sat down near her table and gently said:

-Hou Lei, I don’t know what happened with you in the past to make you disbelieve in Main Land men like that, but I assure you that you will change your mind from now on, you won’t need to care about anything, only need to live happily.

-Stop pouring honey into my ears. – She corrupted him. – You know me, right? You want me to talk about this more times? I said that it’s not because of you, it’s me. I need time to accept the things happening here and asking my heart about what it wants.

-Alright, I know that, but I also want you to know that I’ll never give up to win your heart, I believe my love will make you know what true love is.

-Okay, let’s wait until that day. I’m tired, please let me alone.

He nodded and walked out of the room, did not forget to look at her one more time. After he left, Hou Lei fetched a sigh.

The next some days passed without anything should be noticed. She still got up early, greeting the Queen, having lunch with Tian Liam, watering the trees and flowers in her garden.

This night was a full moon night. Hou Lei had to absorb the power of the moonlight to improve her disguise, she prepared the herbs needed for the ritual bought from the seller she used to meet when treating to the Queen. The moon was getting its higher level on the sky, she asked Ah Jiang not let anyone disturb her as she wanted to sleep early.

She started her ritual by chanting a spell, making the herbs fly around her body as a circle. The moonlight reached her room directly. She sat on her bed and then flying with the herbs. There was a wave forming from the herbs and spreading out in the space. It spread rapidly into many directions of Main Land and reached the West Land, making its effect on everyone. Tian Liam was walking on a big road in the palace, he was checking if everything was okay. The wave passed through his body and made him feel very strange. He stopped for a second and thought about Hou Lei. He felt not good and ran to her room. Ah Jiang saw him and prevented him to get in:

-My Prince, Princess Hou Lei is sleeping now, please come back tomorrow!

-How dare you to prevent me from meeting my wife? – He shouted at her.

-I’m sorry, my Prince! – She kneed down. – But Princess Hou Lei asked me to do that, please, my Prince, I don’t want her to get angry by disturbed!

-I don’t care, I need to meet her now! – Tian Liam pushed the maid to fall down.

He prepared to go but looked back and returned to help her stand up.

-I’m sorry Ah Jiang, I just want to meet Hou Lei. I’ll take the responsibility, she won’t punish you. Just leave us alone.

-So I’ll go, please take care of Princess Hou Lei. – Ah Jiang nodded and left.

Tian Liam walked closer to her room. He knocked on the door.

-Hou Lei, are you awake?

She was busy with her ritual and heard the knock. She started with his voice and fell down on the ground. The moonlight had its most powerful light shine directly to her place and made the wave aim to Tian Liam. The powerful wave hit him from the inside of the door and threw him flying a distance from the door to the middle of the front yard. He was severely injured, many wounds appeared on his body and his blood bled out of the wounds.

Hou Lei tried to get her balance back and opened the door rapidly to see what had happened to Tian Liam. He laid there and could not help himself to get up. She helped him up, his breath was very weak. She used her Hou magic to erase the things he had just witnessed. But her magic seemed to be ineffective with him. She did not know to do anything, just hugged him and looked around. She could not let her identity be revealed. She broke some pots of trees and made some furniture become a mess. Then she shouted out loudly:

-There was an assassin! Please help!

The soldiers heard her voice, called to others and ran to her place. They also informed the Soldier General and the Emperor. Everyone got there and saw Hou Lei hugging Tian Liam with a lot of blood around them.

-Call the doctor, now! – The Emperor shouted.

-My Princess, are you okay? – The General asked her.

-I’m okay, but Tian Liam… - She cried.

-Let me help you, My Princess. – He said and turned to the soldiers. – Some of you help our Prince. The other soldiers find that assassin, don’t let him run out of the Palace.

He helped her to stand up and then brought Tian Liam into her room with some soldiers.

-What happened? – The Emperor asked Hou Lei.

-There was an assassin and Tian Liam fought with that guy. He didn’t bring his sword with him, so he lost in the fight and got hurt. I saw that and shouted to everyone, the assassin left very fast.

-That’s all? – The Emperor asked. – So he must be very good at martial arts to win Tian Liam.

-I don’t know, but when I saw him, he was on the ground with many wounds.

-Okay, I don’t doubt you about that, I will take the investigation later. Now Tian Liam’s health is the most important.

The doctor came and checked Tian Liam’s status, he said to the Emperor:

-The Prince got many wounds, but not too seriously, he will need to take rest some days. I will make a list of medicine for him later, now I will make his wounds stop bleeding.

After the doctor’s treatment, the Emperor said:

-I think that we should leave Tian Liam here with Hou Lei, she can take care of him. Mr. Hu, please ask the soldiers to protect them well. – He turned to Hou Lei. – Does it matter to leave Tian Liam here?

-Of course not, Father! He is my husband, I’ll take care of him good! – She answered.

-Okay, let’s do that! Everyone comes back to your works. And you, Mr. Hu, must find out the assassin. – He walked out of the room.

-Do you need any help? – Mr. Hu asked Hou Lei.

-I think not. I can make it myself. – She answered.

He and the doctor left. Hou Lei closed her door and looked at Tian Liam laying on the bed.

-You shouldn’t have any relationship with me, it will make you have wounds and miserable memories.
