PART 28 – THE PLAN OF THE CROWN PRINCE

Hou Lei had her meal and waited for Tian Liam to come back. He brought the pot with him and walked inside the room, put it on the table. She stopped eating to check the medicine. Opening the cover of the pot, she smiled and pointed inside the pot:

-Here’s the medicine, it will help your mother wake up.

-Hou Lei. – He sat down next to her. – It’s not I have doubt about you, but can you tell me what disease my mother got?

-It’s not a disease. – She continued eating. – It’s a curse!

-A curse? – He surprised. – From who? Who wants to make my mother suffer that?

-I have no idea, but this curse belongs to Er tribe. They want to aim at the Emperor, maybe!

-So how do you know about this curse?

-Someone in the West Land had the same situation, I and my medical teacher helped him to pass through the curse. Maybe it’s the fate when I’m here at the right time the Queen got it.

They got to the Queen’s room, but the sentries prevented them to get in.

-I’m the Third Prince, how dare you not let me go into my mother’s room?

-I’m sorry, my Prince. The Emperor doesn’t accept for anyone to get in. – The sentry answered.

-I know that we just want to look at the Queen for a while, we’re really worried about her. – Hou Lei said and used some Hou magic on the sentries.

-Okay, you can go in, but make it fast, I don’t want to take the punishment. – The sentry said.

Hou Lei and Tian Liam got into the room. The Queen was sleeping peacefully without any sign that she could awake. Tian Liam sat next to her bed, held her hand and touched her face. Hou Lei put her hands on his shoulder to comfort him. She then brought out the medicine with care, she used her hand to make the Queen’s mouth open and put the medicine inside.

-The medicine will have its effect soon. It will take some time. – She explained.

-So do we need to wait? – Tian Liam asked.

-No need, we should come back to our rooms first, I don’t want anyone to know about this.

After watching his mother one more time, Tian Liam got out of the room with Hou Lei. They walked back to her room.

-Is that you did something to the medicine? – He asked. – I saw you fell down this noon.

-I just got too tired after a long night of caring about the pot.

-Do you feel good now? Or you need to rest more?

-I’m okay, I just need to take a rest and everything will be normal.

-Hou Lei. – He held her hands. – Thank you, for all the things!

-Don’t be like that. You will make me cry. – She gently touched his face. – I know you are a strong man, but in this situation, no one can be strong enough, especially, all the doctors can’t help you. It’s the fate that I was here to help you.

She got into her room, he still stood there, looking at her room. He did not know if he should believe in this lady or not. She was more mysterious to him day by day. Another thing, he did not want to make her uncomfortable, he would not investigate more about her, he thought that if she wanted him to know, she would naturally tell him. He would wait and that day would come, the day he knew all about her and also, she accepted his love.

The next day morning, the Queen woke up in the surprise of the doctors and the Emperor.

-How do you feel, Mei Lan? – The Emperor asked.

-I’m okay, I just had a good sleep with some dreams that I’ve never thought I would dream. – She answered. – What happened?

-You’ve slept for almost four days. – He said. – I’m very happy to see you’re good now.

-Four days? – She surprised. – I have no idea about that. I just think I have normal sleep.

-You awake, it’s good, it’s good, don’t need to care about other things! – He hugged her tightly.

-Okay. Well, I’m here with you. – She hugged him too.

-Mother, you wake up! – Tian Liam was very happy when seeing his mother.

-My boy! – She touched his face. – You look not good!

-He must care much about you these days. – The Emperor said. – I was busy with my work, he had to spend almost his time finding the doctors to treat your disease.

-Oh, my son! – She hugged Tian Liam. – I’m so proud of you and happy to have a son like you.

Hou Lei got into the room, she brought some food for the Queen.

-My Emperor, My Queen. – She greeted them. – Mother, I have some dishes I made for you, you’ve slept for four days, you must feel hungry now.

-Oh, you’re right! – She nodded. – You’re the most understanding person of all.

-Let have your meal, the food is still warm. – She put the tray on the table.

Tian Liam helped the Queen to stand up and walk to the table. He looked at Hou Lei and smiled brightly. His mouth had a signal with her as “Thank you”.

That afternoon, after discussing some works with the Emperor and the Crown Prince, Tian Liam left and came back to his room. Tian Leong stayed with the Emperor, he said:

-Father, did you hear anything about the missings of things and the mysteriously lost of some people in the royal city recently?

-I’ve heard! – The Emperor answered. – Do you have any idea about that?

-I have no idea, we need to carry out the investigation soon if not, the citizen will be worried and it will affect much on our city.

-I know that, although we had our sentries to deal with many people to keep this news in secret, I don’t think we can keep it hidden for a long time.

-So I have an idea. – He whispered. – Why don’t we let Tian Liam investigate this issue?

-Why Tian Liam? We have many good investigators! I think that those guys who stole things are very strong and dangerous. They also kidnapped people.

-But we need to keep this in secret, father. And Tian Liam is the best choice, he is good at martial arts, he can protect himself, and he is our family’s member, he won’t let the information leak out. Even more, he had many times investigating such cases like this.

-Okay, I think that’s a good idea now. I will ask Tian Liam to do that.

At that time, Tian Liam got to Hou Lei’s room. She was watering the plants and flowers in her garden.

-Hou Lei. – He waved her. – I got something for you.
