PART 27 – THE QUEEN’s ILLNESS_3

-So believe me, I assure that she will be okay! – Hou Lei looked directly in his eyes.

-Okay, I believe in you! – He answered.

-Now I need room to make the medicine. Remember, without any disturbance, even you.

-I can’t meet you at that time? – He wondered.

-Yes, no one. And you must sure that no one has the attention of my work. You can’t meet me in the whole day, no knock on the door, no more question, okay?

He nodded and led her to a private room near his room.

-This is my reading room. No one gets here normally. Do you need anything else?

-Give me a teapot, an oven, some water and five of your hair!

-My hair? – He surprised. – What does it mean in this medicine?

-Just give me, or your mother will be in the dream world forever!

He took his hairs and gave her. She walked into the room and closed the door. He came nearly to the door and stood there. She said from the inside.

-Leave now, Tian Liam, and come back at tomorrow noon. I don’t need to eat this time, so don’t bring food to me. Remember, no disturb!

Tian Liam left, Hou Lei opened the door and looked around to make sure no one was there. She closed the door again and put some powder at the bottom of the door. “This power will keep anyone from open the door and make a shield that protects me from any eyes.” She put the herbs into the pot, added some water and put it on the oven. She walked around the room, there were many bookshelves there. She touched some of them and read some pages in those books. She then stopped at a book written about Hou Ma tribe. She sat down and read carefully about the content of the book.

The book contained some information about Hou Ma tribe in the history of more than two hundred years ago when they had still lived peacefully with the Main Land people. Although the book had many wrong events about Hou Ma tribe, she still read each page. It reminded her about her village, her family and the life she used to have. She had a desire to come back that life, no worry, no mission, no revenge plan. Suddenly, she stopped in the last sentences.

“Hou Ma tribe wanted to come back to the Main Land and destroy the normal human. The Emperor asked the West Soldier General to bring thousands of soldiers and some priests to destroy them. That battle occurred on a full moon night when the Hou Dark Door was weakest. The Hou Ma tribe was all destroyed, no one was alive. The two precious things of them were lost, the Hou magic gem and the Book of Hou Ma tribe. People said that from those two things, there would open the door of immortal life by using Hou magic. Until now, no one knows about the realistic ability of that, but it seems to be that the battle was a mistake of the Emperor.”

Tears dropped down from her eyes. The mistake of the Emperor made her now homeless, and alone in this big world. But she believed that she could find the gem and the book back to help her tribe. She then looked at the pot on the oven. Should she save the wife of the one made her into this situation? Should she marry the sons of that guy? Should she continue to live in this Palace?

-No, I must live here. – She shook her head and said with sharp eyes. – I must find out where the gem is, and find my mother with the book. I must bring back the Hou Ma tribe. No one can stop me, including you, Wang Tian Liam! Anyway, the Queen treats me well, and I believe she had no relation in the idea with the battle. I should save her.

She added more water into the pot and chanted a spell to make the herbs become the medicine. The status of the Queen had to be cursed by Er tribe, this was a kind of drugs coming from them. Hou Lei had to use Hou magic to fight with the curse.

At that time, Liu Han looked for Tian Liam. The sentries did not let her get closer to the Prince’s room. She got angry with them:

-I’m Liu Han, why you don’t let me meet the Third Prince?

-What happens here? – Tian Liam was coming back from the meeting with the Emperor.

-Tian Liam, you’re here. They don’t let me go inside. – She told him.

-Of course. – He answered. – I asked them to protect here.

-Huh? Why you do that? I’m not a stranger!

-Yup, but this is my place, even the Crown Prince can’t pass through without my permission. So please, go back to your place, I’m tired now. I need to take a rest.

-Is Hou Lei inside your room? I know that you hide her in there!

-That’s not your business. – He then said with the sentries. – Watch out carefully, if anyone disturbs me, you already know the punishment.

He walked through the door, the sentries still kept Liu Han outside. He got in his room, sat on a chair, drank some tea. He took a deep breath and opened the window, looked to the direction of his reading room. He wondered what Hou Lei was doing there, but he did not want her to get angry, he only knew to look through the window.

At night, he could not sleep, he worried if there was something bad happening to her. He got his clothes and opened the door, walked to the reading room. When he walked closer to the room, there was no light, he thought she was sleeping, he did not want to disturb, so he came back to his bed. Inside the room, Hou Lei still awoke, she spread some of her magic into the pot. After she finished, she fell down to the floor, she had spent much magic into the medicine. She got a deep sleep and unknown for what happened to her medicine. The fire still was very hot and heated the pot. The mysterious lady Hou Lei had met at Er village appeared outside the room, she silently opened the window and used her hands move a bit, the fire was extinguished.

The next day, at noon, Tian Liam came to the reading room as Hou Lei said. He knocked on the door and called for her:

-Hou Lei, is everything okay? I’m back as your recommendation.

No answer. He opened the door and saw Hou Lei laid on the floor next to the oven. He ran inside the room and caught her up, shaking her body.

-Hou Lei, are you okay? Hou Lei! – He got worried.

She slowly opened her eyes and raised her hand to touch his face.

-I’m okay. I’m just too tired.

-I will ask the doctor to take an examination. Wait for me!

-No, they can't treat for me. Just need to sleep a bit. The medicine is done. Tonight, I will bring it to the Queen. Don’t worry, your mother will be okay. – She then closed her eyes.

He brought her to his room, put her on his bed. Then he came out to get a basin of water and a towel. He used them to clean her face and hands. She had to have a hard time with the medicine. He guessed she had to feel very hungry, she had been eaten nothing for more than a day. He came to the kitchen and asked the chefs to prepare some special food which could help her get her health back faster. When he came back with a tray of food, she had already woken.

-Did you do anything bad to me? – She wondered.

-Of course, not, I just go out and bring some food for you. You were too tired, right?

-It’s better now, bring the pot of the medicine to me, I want to check it before bringing to the Queen.

-Let have your meal first! – He put down the tray. – I’ll get the pot for you.
