PART 116 – THE MISUNDERSTANDING_2

The soldiers got into Hou Lei’s room and captured her. They tied her with a rope and led her out of the room. Some soldiers ran to Tian Liam’s room and told him the news.

-My Prince, there was a problem. – A soldier said.

-What’s going on? – Tian Liam asked.

-Princess Hou Lei… Princess Hou Lei… - The soldier was scared of saying that.

-What? Tell me! – He shouted at them.

-Princess Hou Lei used magic in her room, some maids saw that and many soldiers captured her. They needed your decision to proceed next step.

-What? Hou Lei? Using magic? – He surprised. – Lead me to her place now.

They led him to the place the other soldiers were keeping her. The maids told him what they had witnessed and he looked at her holding by the soldiers.

-Hou Lei, do they say the truth? – He asked.

-Tian Liam… I… - She paused.

-So you are really a demoness? – His eyes were full of angry. – And you have lied to me for a very long time? Talk to me…

-I… I do not know how to explain to you. – Tears dropped from her eyes. – I am not a demoness.

-So, prove it to me! Tell all of them that you are not a demoness.

-Princess Hou Lei, we saw you using magic in your room by our own eyes. How can you explain that? – A maid said.

-That is right. – The other maids nodded.

-Nothing to say? – He asked. – Bring her to the main square of the palace.

Many people gathered by torchlight. A group of people surrounded a pole as they wanted to tie her on there. And from the left-hand side, another group of people leading by some soldiers forced her in a red dress to go with them. She was tied tightly and was lead to the pole.

-Kill the demoness! Kill the demoness! – Many people shouted out.

-Stop the sound! – A soldier shouted out from the high place of the palace wall.

Tian Liam was standing with some soldiers, his face was very serious and looking at Hou Lei. She was now tied to the pole. She had to be beaten by the soldiers, there were many wounds on her body, and she looked exhausted. Blood came out from many places on her body, mixing with the red color of her clothes. She was very weak now, she could not use magic to break the rope around her body. She looked at Tian Liam with full of tears in her eyes.

No emotion was on his face when witnessing that scene. He stood there and saw people yelling about killing Hou Lei. His eyes were sharp and he said to the soldiers below.

-Tie her tightly, cannot let that demon live in our palace! – He said.

-Should we kill her? – A soldier asked him.

-No, let people watch her more, to know about her identity! – He replied. – Leave her there, no one can approach her. If I know anyone get there, you will know the result!

Ah Jiang ran to the Queen’s room and knocked on the door continuously.

-How dare you to bother the Queen at night? – The maid of the Queen said.

-It is about Princess Hou Lei, please let me meet the Queen. – Ah Jiang kneed down.

-You can meet her tomorrow, now leave and let her sleep. – The maid replied.

-What is going on there? – The Queen opened the door.

-She wants to bother your sleep. I will handle her, my Queen! – The maid answered.

-Ah Jiang, what is the problem making you want to meet me late? – The Queen said.

-But… my Queen. – The maid continued.

-Let me talk with her. – The Queen said. – Ah Jiang, tell me…

-My Queen. – Ah Jiang raised her face up. – Please help Princess Hou Lei!

-What happened to her?

-Some maids saw her using magic in her room. She’s now captured and tied with a pole in the middle of the square of the palace. – Ah Jiang said.

-Does Tian Liam know that?

-He is the one making that decision to tie her to the pole.

-What? How can he do that? Lead me to that place now.

Ah Jiang led the Queen to the square, on the way, they met Tian Liang.

-Tian Liang, do you know the news? – The Queen asked.

-I know that, my Queen, I am going there to help her also. – Tian Liang replied.

-We need to hurry. – Ah Jiang said. – They beat the Princess many times and she got many wounds on her body. Please help her, my Second Prince!

The three ran to the square. Tian Liam walked down from the high wall and looked at Hou Lei. His eyes were full of anger and disappointment.

-How can you hide this secret from me for a long time?

-I do not mean to do that, Tian Liam. I… I… - She said weakly.

-You think that I still believe you, Hou Lei. Or the truth that you are even not a Princess?

-What is going on here? – The Queen reached the place.

-Mother, some maids saw Hou Lei using magic in her room. – He said to the Queen.

-Magic? – The Queen laughed. – Does anyone here know that dancing with sparkling silk is one of the best traditions of West Land?

-Dancing? With sparkling silk? – He surprised.

-Let her free first and I will explain to all the stupid people here! – The Queen said.

The soldiers still looked at Tian Liam with fear, they did not do as the Queen commanded.

-Do you want to lose your heads? – Tian Liang asked. – Follow the Queen’s words.

-But My Second Prince, who would we follow? The Queen or the Third Prince? – One soldier asked.

-Okay, anyone of here can do what the Queen said, he will be alive. All of the others will be beheaded. – Tian Liang said.

All the soldiers ran to the pole and untied the rope around Hou Lei. Ah Jiang and Tian Liang helped her to stand up after being freed of the rope. The Queen brought some silk rolls with sparkle powder on them. The rolls were prepared by Tian Liang, he was there also when the maids saw Hou Lei using magic. With the knowledge about West Land, he got the rolls of silk he had taken with him from the trip from the West Land many years ago. He did not think that he would use them someday like this. Luckily, he had them in his reading room and on the way, he met the Queen who could help him strengthen the proof that Hou Lei was dancing in her room instead of using some kind of magic as the maids thought.
