PART 109 – THE THOUGHTS OF HOU LEI_2

The next day, after greeting the Queen, as usual, Hou Lei walked to West Liang palace, she asked Ah Jiang not to go with her, however, there were some soldiers with her as the request of Tian Liam for keeping her safe. The assassins created by Lei Hwa had made him and many people in the palace and the royal city felt not safe. She asked the soldiers to wait for her at the entrance leading to Tian Liang’s room. She stepped to the door of his room and knocked on several times. However, there was no answer, she continued to knock on some more times. Thinking that he was not in his room, she turned back to the entrance and planned to walk back to her room. At the entrance, she saw him walking back in a hurry. He saw her and stopped from a distance.

-Looking for me, sister-in-law? – He asked.

-Yup, I want to talk with you about something. – She replied.

-Well, what “typhoon” brings you here today? – He laughed.

-But you look like in a hurry, I’ll meet you later.

-Oh, just something for the works in the government. – He answered. – It’s rare that you actively get here to meet me, how can I make you disappointed?

-Can I talk to you in private?

-Of course, please get in. – He opened the door.

She looked at his room, a very nice and impressive decoration. It proved that he seemed to focus much on his spiritual life. He led her to sit down on a chair next to the window.

-I don’t know that you would be here, so I don’t prepare anything for you.

-It’s okay, I’m here to talk with you something fast and I’ll leave soon. Don’t worry! – She replied.

-Have some tea. – He poured the tea for her. – This tea is from the East Land, they have a very special tea culture belong to their lifestyle.

-Your knowledge about countries is very large.

-Well, not enough to me, there are some places I want to discover, but I won’t ever have a chance.

-What are these places? – She wondered. – The tea tastes very good.

-Hou Ma tribe and Er tribe. – He answered but he changed the subject immediately. – But let my story later, talk about your first, what do you want to tell me?

-Firstly, I want to say thank you for your help in bringing the medicine for me. Secondly, thank you for keeping my secret well.

-Secret? What’s the secret? – He surprised.

-About the medicine, don’t tell me that you made the medicine on your own.

-Of course not, but I took it from someone I can believe in.

-Someone? Do I know that person?

-Maybe, Miss Miang Xiang. – He replied.

-Miang Xiang? How could she…

-I know your question, I don’t know too. But I believed in Miang Xiang when she said that she knew someone who could help you.

-You can believe her easily, you two must have been known each other for a long time?

-Not much, but I know that there are always mysterious things around us and Miang Xiang is one of the ones help me to discover some of them.

-Oh, that makes me surprise, however, can you meet me and Miang Xiang in person? I also want to ask her something. – Hou Lei suggested.

-Of course, how about tonight? I have some works with the Soldier General and we can meet her with him also, you know, he is her good friend.

-That’s a good idea, see you tonight.

She stood up and stepped out of his room.

-Goodbye, sister-in-law! – He closed the door.

She returned to her room, watering the garden, tidying her things in the room. The lunch came, she had her lunch lonely because Tian Liam had some works in the government today, she thought that had to be something relating to the assassins created by her mother the day before. After a short nap in the afternoon, she walked to the kitchen and cooked some dishes for him. She put the tray of food on the table and then changed her clothes. Before walking to meet the Soldier General, she told Ah Jiang something:

-I will meet the Soldier General for some works, if the Prince comes back, please tell him to have his dinner with the food I prepared for him on the table.

-Yes, my Princess. But you don’t want to let the Prince where you want to go?

-Well, just tell him that I go to meet the Soldier General, he won’t be worried when knowing that I’m going with Mr. Hu. – Hou Lei said and went out of her room.

Right after some minutes she had left, Tian Liam got to her room. Ah Jiang told him the things Hou Lei had said. He sat on the chair looking at the food she had prepared and wondered himself.

“Some works with the Soldiers General? What does she want to do with him? Or she is hiding something?”, then he shook his head. “Well, she won’t hide anything bad, right. However, today Mr. Hu would have a meeting with Tian Liang for solving some works in the government. And then… do they plan to meet Hou Lei together?”

He immediately stood up and ran to the room where the General would meet Tian Liang. A horse wagon had just been leaving the road in front of the room. He got his horse in the stable and tried to catch the wagon. They rode the wagon out of the palace and leading to the middle road of the royal city. And then, he realized they stopped in front of the motel of Miang Xiang.

Tian Liang and the General got out of the wagon, they helped Hou Lei to walk down and the three got into the motel. Tian Liam tied his horse to the pole near the motel and watched them from a small food stop opposite the motel.

-Oh, My Prince, my Princess, and Mr. Hu. – Miang Xiang greeted them. – What beautiful wind brings you here with me?

-Hou Lei has something to tell you. – Tian Liang answered.

-And I have a long time no see you. – Mr. Hu said.

-You miss me, or miss my wine, Mr. General. – She laughed. – Okay, Xian, bring the best wine to these two special men. My Princess, I know you will come to see me soon.

-Can we talk in private, Miss Miang Xiang? – Hou Lei said.

-Of course, but I need to prepare something for these two VIP guests. – Miang Xiang replied and walked into her kitchen.

After some minutes, she brought a tray of food and her servant carried a big vase of wine to the table where Tian Liang and Mr. Hu were sitting next to.

-Hope you enjoy them first, I’ll come back to you after talking to the Princess. – Miang Xiang smiled.

She led Hou Lei to a room upstair and they got into the room.

-Do you know my mother, Miss Miang Xiang? – Hou Lei asked.
