PART 54 – THE TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE_4

Tian Liam and Hou Lei walked into the room prepared for them. There was only one bed for two in the room, they looked at each other and paused for a while. He fetched a sigh and then grabbed one pillow and one blanket.

-You plan to sleep on the ground? – She asked.

-Of course, I don’t want to bother your sleep.

-The weather is very cold, it’s raining too. I think…

-No problem. – He corrupted her sentence. – Don’t worry about me!

-Tian Liam, don’t need to be like that. I know you don’t want to break the contract, but I think in this situation, you should sleep on the bed with me.

-You don’t scare about me doing something bad to you?

-Why I must care when I know you won’t do bad things with me?

-You believe in me? – He surprised and held her hand. – Hou Lei, you’re opening your heart to me?

-I’m not sure, Tian Liam, I just… I don’t know. I’ll go to sleep first, there are many things to do tomorrow, it depends on you where you want to sleep.

-Of course, it’s next to my cutie wife. – He smiled and hugged her.

They got on the bed, she did not put a long pillow between them like the first time they had slept on one bed. He laid there, right beside her, his heart was racing without his control. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep. He looked at her momentary, kept silence to not disturb her, he fixed her blanket to cover her body well. He lightly put a kiss on her forehead, she knew that but did not react back to him. He smiled, took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

The next morning, he woke up and she was not beside him on the bed. He looked around to find her and saw a basin of water and a towel had been prepared for him on the table. He changed his clothes and washed his face, then got out of the room. She was cooking in the kitchen in front of the eyes of the maid and sentries of the bureaucrat. People could not believe that they were watching a Princess cooking in a kitchen with the professional skills of a chef. He leaned on the door border and watched her with a smile. She finished her dishes with delicious smell around the kitchen.

-I’ve called Mr. Hu to join breakfast with us. – She said to him. – Why you still stand there? Get in and help me to bring the food.

-My Princess, just let us do this! – A maid said. – You and the Prince shouldn’t do this!

-You should prepare breakfast for yourself, the other maids and the sentries. – He said to the maid. – We can do it ourselves.

They brought the trays of food to meet Mr. Hu in the main house of the bureaucrat’s land.

-My Prince, My Princess! – Mr. Hu greeted them. – Why don’t you let the maid bring the trays for you? It makes me feel not good when letting you bring the food for me.

-Mr. Hu, we’re not in the palace, no one will know this. – Hou Lei smiled.

-Let have our breakfast! – Tian Liam put the tray on the table.

-They look so delicious! – Mr. Hu said.

-Of course, I assure you haven’t been tasted any food like these! – He said and smiled. – They’re made by Hou Lei, no one can cook the same.

-Oh, My Princess, you make me surprise another time! – Mr. Hu said.

-Let’s eat when they’re still warm. – She sat down.

They talked about the plan of the warehouse opening while having breakfast. Later, Tian Liam and Mr. Hu walked to the warehouse to check its status and the preparation of the sentries for the opening to help poor people.

In the afternoon, the preparation was done. Some sentries were asked to walk around and announce the information that the Prince and the Princess were here to give out the food and medicine for people after the typhoon had destroyed the province. There were a lot of people lined up in front of the door of the warehouse.

In the afternoon, there was a very long line of people. The Soldier General commanded the soldiers to bring out thousands of bags of rice and dry provisions with a lot of packs of medicines. He gave some steps to face with people at the large table put in front of the warehouse door.

-Everyone, today, as the command of our Emperor, we are here with two very important persons, the Third Prince of Main Land and his wife, the Princess of West Land. – He introduced Tian Liam and Hou Lei to the people. – They are here to help you with the food and the medicine to fight back the disaster you just suffered. Please keep your line and be patient, there are enough food and medicine for you all.

-Thanks to our Emperor! – The people kneed down and said out loud.

-Don’t need to be like that! – Tian Liam said. – Everyone gets up, you have suffered the loss of houses and family members, these are just a little thing the royal family can do for you.

They started to give out the bags of rice. There were some tables for doctors to check the health of sick people, Hou Lei also took a table for her. After checking, the doctors gave medicine for the one needed. People looked at Tian Liam and Hou Lei, they were satisfied with their Prince and Princess, especially, the Princess could treat the diseases.

In the line of people, suddenly, an old woman fell down, she might be too tired due to her sickness and hungry after many days. Hou Lei stopped what she was doing, ran to the old woman’s place and helped her get up. Tian Liam got there with her, they helped the woman sit down on a chair.

-My lady, let me check your health! – Hou Lei felt the pulse of the woman. – Tian Liam, she is very weak now, I’m afraid she can’t bring the bag of rice and medicine herself. Could we ask a sentry to help bring them to her place?

-It’s okay, my lady, how many members you have in your family? – He asked the woman.

-Just me and my two grandchildren, my Prince. – She answered and started to cry. – My son and daughter-in-law were died in the typhoon by trying to save our garden.

-Poor old woman, we should give her some more food! – Hou Lei felt sympathy with the old woman. – Go with me, I’ll take some medicine packs for you. I want to go to your place to help you, but we still have duties here.

-Thank you so much, my Princess, you’re so beautiful and kind. – The woman replied.

-Mr. Hu, ask a sentry to come with this lady and bring some bags of rice and packs of medicine to her place. – Tian Liam turned to the Soldier General.

All people witnessed the scene, they were too happy to see that. They could not ask more for a Prince and a Princess to be kind and nice like that. Tian Liam walked back to his place to give out the bags of rice and still looked at Hou Lei with the old woman. He thought that he was right when meeting her in his life, the most beautiful thing he had done that was marrying her.

The General asked for two soldiers to help the woman, Hou Lei helped her walked out of the warehouse place and gave her to the soldiers. Then she came back to her table and continued on checking people’s health and giving them the medicine. She turned to look at Tian Liam and saw him smiling with her. He talked something with her but not into sound. She concentrated on his lips’ movements and recognized he was repeating many times the sentence “I love you!”. She felt shy and looked to another way…
