PART 48 – THE MYSTERY IN THE PALACE

After running around on Liu Han’s clothes, the spider landed down to the ground and moved fast to get out of her room.

-Where was that animal from? – The Minister said with angry.

-It’s from Hou Lei! – Liu Han answered. – She wanted to put me in danger.

-Okay, tell me the truth! – The Minister continued.

-That’s the truth! – She replied. – She wants me to die.

-Why? Why does she need to do that? When she is a Princess, and married to the Third Prince, below some persons but above thousand of people.

-I’m a thorn in her eyes! Father, she doesn’t like me, because I’m Tian Liam’s soulmate.

-Or she’s a thorn in your eyes! – He lost his patience. – Don’t talk as you are very innocent.

-Father, you don’t believe me?

-I know you so well, someone saw Xiao Ming buying this spider from a businessman in the market near the royal city. Do you know that this spider is very dangerous and it doesn’t allow to sell or buy it in our country?

-But father, I can’t stand with that Princess!

-I know that, but you must know it too. The Emperor and the Queen are very satisfied with Hou Lei. If she was killed by this spider, they would investigate the final results. Have you ever thought that you can lose your head because of this stupid plan?

-Father, I can’t think too much far like that.

-You also know that Tian Liam loves Hou Lei, if you are the reason she dies, how can you have his love? Or he will hate yours for the rest of his life?

-I don’t want that, of course, so what I should do now, father? – Liu Han asked.

-Nothing, my daughter! – The Minister said. – You just can't win a Princess, even more, your stupid tricks can make me lose my job. Don’t try to do anything like this again!

-Father, please help me!

-Sorry, I just can't do anything! The Queen and the Emperor may get angry if they know you have bad behavior with Hou Lei!

-But you know I love Tian Liam, I can’t live without him!

He came out of her room. Liu Han was angry with what just happened, she could not believe that she lost the game. “If my father doesn't help, I will find another way, there must be a way to defeat her. I can't believe I can't make her disappear."

At that time, Hou Lei was coming back to her room after greeting the Queen. She could sense the sign of the spider, she smiled to herself that Liu Han might get a lesson. Suddenly, Tian Liam walked to her direction, Hou Lei was still with her thinking, did not notice about him.

-My Prince! – Ah Jiang saw him and greeted.

-Hou Lei, you look happy today, is there any good news? – He asked.

-My Princess, the Third Prince is talking with you! – Ah Jiang shook her.

-Oh! – She came back to real life. – What’s up?

-You can leave, Ah Jiang, I want to talk with Princess Hou Lei! – He said and Ah Jiang left. – Hou Lei, you are still holding it against me?

-Why I must get angry with you? There's nothing worth to be upset or think about here.

-You know you can always share everything with me. I know you're lonely in this Palace, I'm your husband, at least, let me share the sadness and loneliness with you.

-I don't need your sympathy, I know what I should do and why I'm here!

-Hou Lei, please, our conversation will always go nowhere if you still think that way!

-So don't talk to me and you won't feel annoyed! You don't know what I suffered and I don't think you can understand a piece of that.

-I know, everybody has different past from others, those make them become the one they are now. However, I will never know you if you don't share anything with me.

-So what I should do? Hugging you and telling you about my nightmare of the past, about the things I never want to remember?

-Hou Lei, I heard that the West Land is very peaceful, people in your country are also very good and nice, what nightmare you are talking about?

-That's it, you always believe in everything you hear about, they aren't the whole story, even you see it by your eyes, sometimes the things happening are not like their appearance.

-So that why I want to know more about you, about my wife, or at least some basic information about you, like your interest, your favorite food.

-One day, Tian Liam, one day, you will know you're on the wrong way at now.

-Why our conversations always come to an early ending? We just talked together very happy yesterday.

-I always talk with you like that, it’s you the one doesn’t realize the real situation.

She prepared to go but he hugged her back.

-Hou Lei, please give me a chance!

-I have no idea if I give you a chance or give myself a chance, Tian Liam, forgive me, I need more time to define what I should do now.

-Whatever happens, just remember that I’m always here for you.

-I don’t know, Tian Liam, I even don’t know what I want now, don’t know what I should do. As I always say to you, it’s my problem, not your side. I need time, for all the things to be in their right places and maybe, I’ll know what I should do that time.

She pushed him away and walked back to her room. He stood there and had many thoughts, normally, if he met a girl refusing him many times like this, he would give up soon and find another girl to love. But with this lady, he did not know she had attracted him much, that he wanted to be with her, wanted to protect her and wanted to share everything with her. She was like sunshine for him in the darkness, he only knew to follow each of her footsteps, beside her every time she needed him. She made him know how to love a person, it was not a possession, not a force, it was the language of the heart, he would follow it and never give up. He strongly believed that someday he could make her feel his love and believe in him.

Hou Lei walked pass through the Royal Garden again and she felt the strange once more time. She looked around to assure that no one was noticing her. She walked to the garden and watched the flowers carefully. Each blossom was spreading out something like magic. She looked around once again and raised her hands up, got some movements and chanted a spell. A wave spread out from her hand and when it touched the flowers there were some black smokes coming out. Hou Lei was surprised by what she witnessed.
