PART 92 – LIU HAN AND THE PRIESTS_2

Liu Han brought the hair of Hou Lei back to her home. She gave them to the priests, Tuhan chanted a spell making her hair shine a green light, then an image of a demoness appeared in front of their eyes. Liu Han’s eyes were full of fear, she hid behind the priest. After a while, the image disappeared with any trace. They sat down around the table in the room for the priests.

-My Lady, as you see, she actually is a demoness. – Tuhan said.

-She was very scary. – Liu Han still felt fear about the image. – How can we beat her down?

-Well, it’s a hard situation. She may be a demoness, but a rare demoness.

-Rare demoness? – Liu Han surprised.

-Yup, an ancient demoness. Her tribe was destroyed many years ago, and she is some of the left ones in this world. They know magic and spells, also know about medicines and poisons. They have the ability to control some animals, too.

-So that’s it. There was a time I found a spider from the North Land, and I wanted to warn her to be far away from Tian Liam. I put the spider in her room but the next day, that spider was in my room and made me felt scared a lot. She also helped to treat the sick people in the South of our country after they had suffered a storm.

-Your information makes me believe we’re on the right way.

-Do you know how to beat her? Or at least make her identity reveal in front of people?

-Beating her down is not easy, you know, the ancient magic isn’t something we can know clear. However, I believe we know the way to make her true face appear in front of the Queen and the Emperor. We just need some ingredients and a reason to go to the palace.

-You can’t do it from here? It’s hard to let both of you get into the palace.

-We must face to face with her to carry out the ritual. You can tell your father to help us like we can make a ritual to give a blessing to people in the palace.

-Oh, I know what I should do!

At that time, Tian Liang was reading a book in his reading room. There was a knock on the door.

-Get in! – Tian Liang said.

-My Second Prince, I have the information you need! – A sentry walked into his room.

-Well, tell me, who are the guys in Minister’s building I saw some days ago?

-They are the priests from East Land.

-Priests? From East Land? What are they doing here?

-As I know, they go around the countries to help people beat the evils and bad things. They had fought with some demons in their country.

-Demons? – Tian Liang surprised. – I had been in the East Land for more than six months, but I hadn’t heard anything about this group of priests!

-That’s the point, my Prince! As my friends in the East Land said, they were abandoned to use magic in the East Land, people didn’t believe in their magic, and they were asked for leaving the country. Because the people in East Land believe in good magic, they still respect the priests and don’t want to make a big problem with this group of priests.

-So their reason to be here isn’t simple like they said.

-You’re right, someone saw them have a meeting with a mysterious man some days before they met Ms. Liu Han. But no one who that man is.

-Okay, I know what I should do now. This is your reward!

The sentry took the gold and left Tian Liang’s room.

“I know who you want to fight with by using those priests, Liu Han. You must be careful with her, Hou Lei. I want to talk to you directly about this problem, but I need to find another way, this time isn’t a suitable time for you to know about me.” Tian Liang said to himself.

The next day morning, Hou Lei opened her door to prepare for greeting the Queen. She saw a small pack in front of her door and no one was around. She picked the pack up and walked back into her room, put it on the table.

-Who put this in front of my door? Look mysteriously. – She said to herself. – Should I open it?

She sat down on a chair next to the table and looked at the pack. Her fingers ran across the table surface and she could not take it anymore, she opened the pack. Inside it was some biscuits and a small piece of paper.

-The peach-tea biscuits? – She surprised. – It’s been a long time I haven’t see this type of biscuit.

She took one biscuit up and watched it carefully, she smelled it. “No smell of poison in here!”, and she took a piece of it, closing her eyes to feel the biscuit melting in her mouth. This feeling, she had not had for a very long time, from the last time her mother made it for her five years ago. Suddenly, she remembered the paper, she opened it.

“Hou Lei, you may not know who I am, but please believe me. You should be careful with Liu Han, she has plans to separate you and Tian Liam. She met some priests from the East Land some days ago, and she wanted to use magic to fight with you. I don’t clearly know what she plans to do, but I think you’re smart enough to destroy her plan. I know you’re here for an important mission, I want to help you much but it’s not the time for me to reveal myself in front of you. I hope you like biscuits, hard to find them in the royal city. Haha, however, be careful and take care of yourself. Tian Liam can’t protect you from all of the harmful things in this palace.

-“From a friend”? Who this guy is? – Hou Lei wondered. – Why does he want to help me? Whatever he has good reason to do this. So Liu Han, actually, you want to have some hairs from me for the priests to carry out their ritual? Not an apology as you acted.

Hou Lei brought out the book of Hou Ma tribe and read some pages, she found out the page describing the priests of East Land, who had the ability to transform somebody into the things they wanted. She thought that those priests of Liu Han would use this kind of magic to make her appear as something else in front of the Queen and the Emperor. She read more on the page, there was a way to prevent their spell from affecting. She needed some herbs to do that. She walked to the kitchen to find if there were enough herbs for her. Unluckily, the herbs at there were the common ones, not the specific ones she needed. At that time, Tian Liam walked into the kitchen.

-What are you looking for? – He asked.

- I need some herbs for my experiment! – She replied, still looking at the herbs on her hands.

-Do you need to go outside for having the ones you want?

-Sound good, can you lead me to the medicine store we used to visit?

-Of course, but I have some other works to do in the palace first!

-I will give you some biscuits, the ones you never tasted before.

-Well, sound interesting, let’s prepare and go now!

-You don’t need to finish your works first? – She surprised.

-Now they’re not important anymore. – He laughed and pulled her to go with him.
